If you are a beginner in freelancing world, you might be worried about getting a freelance job. However, you would be surprised to now that, it took me over a month to get my first freelance job. It’s because there was no one to help me. I was so depressed but not hopeless.

I assume that you have some basic knowledge about internet such as browsing, entering a URL, finding something etc. However, as a beginner you may have a query that is there any prerequisite of online job? The answer is “YES”. Yes it is the basic knowledge of computer and online. If you possess some sound knowledge of computer and net you could be a freelancer.

However, in order to earn money online, you need to have some primary skills. Here I try to create a list. Check whether you possess these skills or not.

Primary Skills:

Four (Must have) skills for freelancing

  • You must have basic knowledge of Internet.

  • You must have a minimum level of English language proficiency.

  • You must have a good communication power.

  • You must have a good computer skill.

Don’t be tensed. Be confident

Equipment that you need for Online Job:

  • A computer.

  • Internet Connection.

  • A browser (Mozilla or Google chrome)

  • Chatting Software (Yahoo Messenger, Skype, MSN)

You need to be connected with internet. Because, after you apply for a job, it’s not certain when the buyer will call you for an interview. It’s better to check your mail off and on to check if you get any message from a buyer.

However, the first two steps (primary skills) are the key to your success in online jobs. You know, I am a freelancer and I have been working since December 2009. However, almost all of my friends know that I earn money over the internet. Some of them seem curious about earning money though they don’t even know how to start a computer. Here is step by step instruction for taking a test on odesk. For completing you profile 100% you need to have at least  a test and a readiness test.

Just go to Find contractor and job menu in your profile of oDesk Click on “Test” like shown in below

Then it will show you a test search box where you can search test available by choosing category. Then select your test that you want to have. and here given some summery rules of the test that your have to read carefully . Read policies and FAQ for taking the tests before you hit the Start Test button. it will show like given below

In the list below just choose your test that you want to take

It will show you a window from where click Strart Test like below

then it will show you another window where you have to read and click Continue

it will show you a window just click on “Click here to start your test”

Then It will show you a dialog box like below for confirmation just click continue

Then it will start the test like below and show the time in the right upper corner click the answer box and then click next.

Onec you click next you can’t get back and answer can be one or more option . when it will show square box in the option then it has another answer other wise it has one answer.

You can get help from the software like Ms Word while giving test of Ms Word . just open the software then find the answer , no problem.

Or if you wanna give the test of English skill that time you can get the help of dictionary.

Any how after complete the test it will show u a result like below. Then click continue without or with providing feedback.

If You fail the test , don’t worry you can take the test after a month. During this you can take any other Test.
